After being sentenced to life in 2012, Hosni Mubarak is set to walk free this week. The deposed president of Egypt will be released from detention and expected to be return to his home in Heliopolis.
Muburak was convicted for conspiring to murder 239 demonstrators during the 2011 uprising against his rule. The former President, who was put on trial by President Mohammed Morsi during democratic-rule, was cleared in a retrial in 2014. On 2 March, the Court of Cassation, the highest court in the land acquitted him of murder charges and corruption.
